Benecke Coffee was founded back in 1995 by Bernhard Benecke and Clemens von Storch. They started operations by importing green coffee from Central America and selling to local roasters. Business grew steadily and the ongoing success made it possible to acquire the specialty coffee importer, Rehm & Co. with its 100 year old experience.

This acquisition allowed Benecke Coffee to take part in the specialty coffee frenzy that started in Europe during the 1990s. Our experienced and dedicated team of employees is the key to success in this complex business.
In 2007, Mr. Bernhard Benecke, leaving a legacy of success and an untarnished carrier record in business ethics, retired at the age of 70 years. Mr. von Storch remained sole owner until 2009, when Arthur E. Darboven joined the company as partner.

Benecke Coffee is proud of its business partners that underline the strong fundament of the company.
Today, we work closely with a vast amount of private coffee estates, cooperatives of the social and private sector, local and multinational exporters in many countries. We are an integral part in the chain of their sales strategy and work as trade liason to reach the vast roaster market. Our clients are small-, medium and large local and multinational roasters.

The ideal composition of our team members, each one with widespread and unique experience in the coffee sector, results in a deep understanding of partner  needs; regardless if  roaster or producer.
Our multicultural and multilingual team facilitates the maintenance and growth of our origin network, often resulting in strategic alliances.

Furthermore BC is member of the German Coffee Association (DKV) and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
